More snow

Got the parking pad cleared, waiting on our wonderful neighbor to do the main part of the driveway once things stop coming down! No place to go, so no problem.

Managed to squeeze my car (the GTI) into the garage (along side the Corvette) and still have enough room for the tractor and snowblower. It’s a tight fit, but not having to make it to the shed to get implements of snow removal is a good thing. As is having my car, which has summer performance tires on it, off the slippery stuff. Got to use the VW tow hook for the first time today, after sliding across the parking pad in an attempt to move it into the garage…

snowcanIt’s been coming down for around 12 hours at the point that this was taken.  No hurry to go dig out – once it stops we’ll get moving. They’re calling for it to possibly continue for another 12 hours or so. We did grocery shopping last night, the beverage fridge is well stocked, so might as well stay home and enjoy it!

My Coworkers

I work from home many days. As such, my Office is a little different from the norm. Mainly, my co-workers.

Harvey is the office crank, but he generally keeps to himself and doesn’t get in the way too much. He is picky though about his furnishings, preferring a chair to himself.

Katy and Ginger tend to hang out in the common area more – usually on the old futon. As evidenced here, they don’t have much respect for company property and have developed a habit out of removing the stuffing from office supplies like the comforter and squeeky-toys.  They also have a tendency to get involved in horseplay, making a bunch of noise and running into things. This usually goes on until either Harvey or I bark at them.

Norman tends to be in and out more than the rest of us. He’ll work remotely much of the time (say, in the bedroom, the living room, or frequently from the sunny spot in the kitchen). When he does show up in the office, he has a problem at times maintaining persona space. Has an amazing tendency to show up whenever there’s cereal milk or marinara sauce leavins’ to be had.  Here he was demanding attention, plopping himself down right where the mouse normaly sits. This is not quite as bad as sometimes though, where he decided to walk across the keyboard, or my back.

Went in a little bit ago to toss some laundry in. As I was reaching across the dryer to turn it on, I relized that there was a snake heading down, with his head propped on the basket of clean clothes on top of the dryer!

Ran up to get the camera, and (s)he was already high-tailing(?) it out, but got a couple of shots anyway. Looks like a harmless Black Rat Snake, I think.

And a closeup on the head. Lightened to show the body coloring better.
